Born in Dublin, Ireland, and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Richard has been working professionally in theatre, film, and television for over 25 years. In Toronto, he's appeared on stage in productions including The Boys in the Photograph, New Canadian Kid, and Stones in His Pockets, and on screen in films such as Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Julius Caesar, as well as TV series including The Listener, Lost Girl, Being Erica, Murdoch Mysteries, Reign, and Mayday.

For 20 years, He's been involved with the Toronto Bloomsday Festival, starring as Leopold Bloom and serving as Festival Director, helping bring Joyce’s Ulysses to life for audiences in Toronto.
